creating own headboard need help and ideas!?
i have a turquoise room and i want to make my own headboard.
i have a white down comforter and and full sized bed.
i really like black brown and silver in my room so i was wondering if it might look good to do the headboard in a silver shiny fabric with a black frame?
any other ideas?

There are tons of options when it comes to headboards. Here are a few easy tips and ideas:

I think a chocolate brown headboard would be better with the turquoise, This way it can be something that will not date as quickly as the silver and black will. What you will need is ply board or similar for the headboard, most hardware stores will cut it to the shape that you want for you too. Then once you have this board (it is probably easier in 2 halves) you will need 3 lengths of timber say 3 inch wide by 1 inch thick. 2 lengths will be the length from the floor to the top of your headboard and the third will be to joint your 2 halves together in the middle. Once this is done you will need to get a peice of 2inch foam or you can use wadding. With spray adhesive stick this to the front of the headboard. Next get fabric that you like to the size 6 inches wider and 6 longer than the size of your headboard. Now put the fabric on the floor wrong side up, put the headboard on top and wrap over the fabric and using a staple gun, staple the fabric on all the way around. All done.
